Janitor/Maintenance for Band Administration Offices
(4 Month Term Position – January to April 2026)

Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Operations the incumbent is responsible for keeping the Band Office Facility with complete caretaker, cleaning and janitorial services; ensuring a safe work environment for staff and the general public; ensuring an adequate stock of safe & effective cleaning products and housekeeping supplies, provide minor repairs & maintenance and clean and in an orderly condition by performing the following key activities:

Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to assess and identify/repair maintenance needs
  • Must be courteous, pleasant, and offer your assistance when needed
  • Ensure satisfaction through maintenance performance
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance duties
  • Must be able to identify mechanical/structural needs
  • Capable of assembling equipment and furniture
  • Employee must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the business
  • Employee must perform other duties as assigned, of which the employee is capable
  • Term Position:  January 5 – April 30, 2026

Janitor Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting all surface areas (including bathrooms)
  • Sweeping and mopping all areas and entrances
  • Washing all windows/doors (inside and out)
  • Empty trash cans/recycling
  • Make sure the facilities are clean and meets all safety requirements
  • Wash walls, ceilings, blinds, and light fixtures
  • Cut and trim grass in summer months
  • Clean sidewalks and shovelling of snow in winter months
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Training and/or minimum of one-year experience in caretaker/cleaning/janitorial duties.
  • Acquired training in WHMIS, CPR, Transportation of Dangerous Goods or willing to be trained to perform above duties;
  • Must be in good physical shape and able to meet the physical demand;
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision;
  • Must be responsible for own transportation to work-site;
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Illegal Drug By-law, etc;
  • Must provide with Resume, Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
