POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available
SALARY: $65,109 – $102,091 per annum

  • The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $3,000 or $6,000 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.
POSITION LOCATION: Interlake Campus/Selkirk, MB (40km outside of Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Interlake and Peguis Fisher River Campus Manager, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for the Health Care Aide Program to be delivered in the community of Fisher River Cree Nation. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Safety, Growth and Development, Interpersonal Relationships, Activities of Daily Living, Gerontology, Long Term Care and Caring for Clients in the Community.
Duties related to instructing include curriculum lesson planning, maintaining student records, evaluation, marking and recording into the College student learning management system. Classroom management and assisting in college activities including instructor meetings, student orientation, relevant committees or work assignments as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Nursing and a Registered Nurse designation; license in good standing within Manitoba
  • Significant and current work experience in a nursing capacity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Strong commitment to safety regulations
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
  • Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
  • Incumbent must hold a valid College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Certificate
