Case Management Assistant

Fisher River Income Assistance Pre-Employment Supports program offers case management, education, life skills, and employment support to Income Assistance clients seeking to gain skills to overcome barriers in employment, training, and education. The supports that may be available are resume writing, first aid and safety courses, job shadowing opportunities, life skills training/teaching, cultural teachings, referrals, etc.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Program Manager/Caseworker, the Case Management Assistant will provide administrative support to the Pre-Employment Supports Program. The Case Management Assistant will work closely with the Pre-Employment Case Manager, supporting IA clients and implementing programming in Income Assistance PESP. It also includes the intake process, employability assessment and planning, development of action plans for IA clients, including monitoring, follow-up with clients and reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote positive public relations in all matters that may reflect on or affect the perception of the administering authority and the First Nation.
- Providing information and resources via phone calls, emails, and referrals.
- Respect the necessity for confidentiality in all matters affecting or involving applicants and recipients.
- Keep case management client files up to date, maintaining an accurate case file for each client.
- Assisting the Case Worker with training obligations such as attendance records and transportation.
- Providing clerical support, word processing, resume writing and electronic filing.
- Planning, organizing training and workshops.
- Must adhere to FRCN Policies & Procedures, including the Illegal Drug By-law, etc.
- Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
- Effective time management skills are a must.
- A pleasant telephone manner and the ability to respond effectively to callers and visitors.
- The ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member.
- Preference will be given to Fisher River Cree Nation band members.
- Valid driver’s License and vehicle access.
- Willing to attend training as required.
