We are deeply concerned by the shooting incident that occurred at the Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) Fisher River Detachment early this morning. At this time, we want to assure our community that there is no risk to the public, as this was a targeted attack directed solely at the detachment.

Our Leadership, together with the MFNPS, is fully committed to investigating this act of violence and bringing those responsible to justice swiftly and decisively. We will not tolerate any attempts to intimidate or threaten our community, especially from drug dealers or any individuals trying to undermine the safety and wellbeing of our people.

Fisher River Cree Nation remains steadfast in our ongoing battle against drugs and criminal activity in our community. We stand united and fearless in protecting our homes, our families, and our future. We thank the MFNPS for their dedication and encourage all community members to remain vigilant and report any information that may assist in this investigation.

We thank the community for their patience during this ordeal. Together, we will overcome these challenges and continue to build a safe, strong, and healthy community for all.
