We are thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of the Fisher River Cree Nation Sub-Office, located at Unit A 220 Cree Crescent in Winnipeg! This new space was created with the heartfelt goal of connecting more closely with our Off-Reserve population and strengthening our presence in the city.

Alongside the Rubin Block project, this initiative marks an important step toward expanding our community’s reach and support within Winnipeg. Currently, the Sub-Office proudly houses our Off-Reserve Jordan’s Principle operations, Child Advocacy Office, Fisher River Reconciliation and Administration. We look forward to welcoming even more departments in the near future.

Excitingly, the next step will be beginning the Addition to Reserves process to convert the land where the office stands into official Fisher River Cree Nation reserve lands—an important milestone for our community.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the dignitaries who honored us with their presence and acknowledgments, including AFN National Chief Cindy Woodhouse, AMC Grand Chief Kyra Wilson, and MKO Grand Chief Garrison Settee.

A special thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing this project to life: Everette Construction, DGH Engineering, Doug Beyer, Smittys Furniture, Sam Murdock, Eileen Lope, Marge Murdock, Fisher River Jordan’s Principle team; we apologize to anyone who we missed. We are also grateful to Jeanette Cochrane and Stanley McKay for their beautiful prayers and ceremonies.

This milestone is a testament to our community’s strength and commitment to growth, connection, and healing. Together, we look forward to a bright future!
